Among ancient towers and silent walls, where villages speak to those who know how to listen.
Cattolica is not just the sea: the surrounding villages and hills tell its most authentic story. That’s why we’ve created a small itinerary to help you discover it more deeply.
Starting from Cattolica, the journey opens in San Giovanni in Marignano, where quiet streets and ancient walls—once belonging to the Malatesta family—seem to whisper the slow rhythm of the countryside. Just a few kilometers away lies Saludecio, whose colorful murals paint the houses like pages of an open diary, while the valley unfolds beneath your gaze.
Continuing on, Mondaino welcomes you with its semicircular square that gently embraces those strolling through the village streets, as time itself seems to stand still. Not far away, Montegridolfo appears as a small medieval jewel, where the Gothic Line of the Second World War tells powerful and moving stories. Here, an interactive museum allows visitors to relive those events, making the experience deeply engaging.
Climbing a little higher, Montefiore Conca reveals its romantic silhouette: the fortress dominates the hills and, at sunset, the distant sea becomes pure magic. Then come Gemmano, immersed in nature and tranquility, and Montescudo, with wide, luminous panoramas opening onto the valley. Finally, the route descends to Morciano di Romagna, a lively town that gently leads the way back to Cattolica.
Along the way, a stop at a local winery—Enio Ottaviani, Tenuta del Monsignore, or Podere Vecciano—offers the warmth and authentic flavors of Romagna, making the journey even more memorable.
